Frequently Asked Questions
Below are our most frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions not listed, please contact Wordsmith Group.
How much does each service cost?
Wordsmith Group works at an hourly rate for each of the services provided, or, for certain projects, on a fee-per-word basis. We will outline each service rate and the total cost in your quote.
How long will it take you to complete the work?
Generally a client will determine the deadline for the project/piece of work depending on what it is and what its unique requirements are. Wordsmith Group will work to that deadline or, if required, to a time set by both parties that allows the work to be completed as per the Terms of Agreement.
Who does the work?
The main writing consultant at Wordsmith Group is Chris Hartley. However, if his workload is such that completing the proposed work by the stipulated deadline is unrealistic, we may sub-contract the service to other members of our team. This would be agreed-upon by both parties before taking place.
Who owns the copyright of the completed works?
Wordsmith Group owns the copyright of the completed works until the full fee has been paid. At this point, copyright ownership transfers to you. Wordsmith Group retains ‘portfolio copyright’ which means we have the right to display the works in the Wordsmith Group portfolio. This may include the work itself, a description of the work, your company name and logo, and the services that we provided. If the work is confidential and not available to the public then our confidentiality policy is put into effect and the works themselves, or description of the works, will not be published.
How do you maintain privacy and confidentiality?
Any information that you provide to assist in the provision of the agreed-upon services will be not be disclosed, published, sold or traded to any third party, unless the third party is engaged by us to help in the completion of the works and has agreed to adhere to our strict confidentiality policy. All information will be stored securely.
What if the brief changes or I am unhappy with the work?
If you require a change or amendment to the brief, you simply need to contact Wordsmith Group to confirm the new scope of work. We will adjust the agreed-upon fees in accordance with the new work, and following consultation with you.
If the completed works does not meet the brief as outlined by you, then Wordsmith Group will re-perform the work. We will still be entitled to the fees for the original work.
