Chris Hartley - Owner & Managing Director

Chris Hartley is the owner, Managing Director and main writing consultant at Wordsmith Group. Having worked in the communications and public relations industry with different PR firms since 2011, he has experience in the mining and resources, travel and tourism, finance, commercial and residential real estate, food and beverage, sporting and retail sectors.

While completing a Bachelor of Business Management (Marketing) and a Bachelor of Journalism at the University of Queensland, he undertook internships with the Courier Mail and Brisbane Times, and made published contributions to both outlets as well as mX Brisbane newspaper. In addition, he has provided written pieces for the Sydney Morning Herald, MyCityLife magazine, Cricket Life magazine, ESPN Cricinfo, the University of Queensland, and Brisbane Boys’ College ‘Collegian’ magazine. 

Chris has also enjoyed a highly successful and long-standing career as a professional cricketer, currently in his 16th season and having played over 250 matches with the Queensland Bulls, Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder.

 Chris is the driving force behind Wordsmith Group, with an enthusiasm for words and communication.
